The Team

Lawrence N. Goldstein

Founder and General Partner

Larry is currently a Director of Pavilion Technologies, Inc and GTESS Corporation. He also is an observing member of three investment company boards including, VocalData, Inc, ClearCube, Inc.and Layer N Networks. Mr. Goldstein is also a Director of AMX Corporation (AMXC) a vendor of advanced control system technology targeting the commercial and residential markets and was formerly an investor and Director of DTM Corporation, a selective laser sintering vendor for the rapid prototyping and rapid manufacturing industries.

Prior to his involvement in the early-stage venture capital business, Mr. Goldstein spent several years in investment banking for a regional firm with a focus on software and communications opportunities where he was involved in public offerings, private placements, mergers and acquisitions, and strategic alliance transactions. Previously he was employed as a Robotics Engineer at General Dynamics in Fort Worth , Texas . His responsibilities included the design, development and implementation of robotic systems for advanced manufacturing.

Mr. Goldstein received a Masters of Business Administration. from the University of Texas, after receiving a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Florida.

Allen D. Fleener

Founder and General Partner

Al is currently a Director of VocalData, Inc.He was formerly a Director of Peerless Systems Inc., a banking system software company and spin-off of Electronic Data Systems (EDS); and Chairman of the Board of Voiceplex Corporation, an automated voice telephonic system software company acquired by InterVoice in 1994; and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Crossties Software Corporation, a Windows based software publisher focused on the groupware and information management marketplace.

Mr. Fleener was the President of Intervoice from 1984-1991, a publicly-held company involved in the development, servicing and sale of interactive voice response systems for use with telephones, computers and other electronic devices. Prior to Intervoice, Mr. Fleener was Vice President of Periphonics Corporation, an affiliate of Exxon Enterprises. Previously, he was Vice President of Operations of Informatics, a publicly held company providing software and data processing services to life and health insurance companies. Mr. Fleener has over thirty years of management experience with computer and communications systems solutions.

Mr. Fleener was awarded the Dallas -Fort Worth area “Entrepreneur of the Year” in 1990 and is a former Director of the Entrepreneurial Institute of American. IBM selected him for the 1991 “Presidential Excellence Award”, one of only four such awards nationwide . Mr. Fleener holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from DePauw University where he is a member of the Board of Trustees and a Masters of Business Administration from Washington University .
